Girlfriends - We're a trend and a lifestyle! (No wonder we're so fun!)

Be on the look out! Girlfriend-themed products continue to be the BIG trend as reported by trade publication, Greetings Etc. in the Sept/Oct issue I just received. As they say (very much like the theme to Girlfriendology!), "Women have always known about it - that strong bond and sense of support they share with each other." There just is a special relationship between female friends and women are looking to events, products, cards, trips and all kinds of ways to celebrate this!

That's why you're here, right? Your girlfriends mean the world to you and you don't know what you'd do without them. Girlfriends, Sisters, Mothers ... Women who bless our lives

My friend Laurie just sent me the following "chain email." I usually don't read, much less resend, those but this one is about girlfriends and all the wonderful women in our lives who bless, love, accept, inspire and encourage us.

Instead of passing this along in a mass email, I'll share it with you. As you read it, think about the special women in your life and how much they mean to you. Tomorrow is National Women's Friendship Day. Call up your girlfriends, or visit, have dinner together, send an eCard or greeting card, etc. Take time out for the special women who bless your life with their friendship and love. Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.

Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.

Men don't do what they're supposed to do.

Hearts break
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.

Careers end.
BUT........
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you. A girlfriend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins and extended
family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on
to all the women who help make your life meaningful.

I just did.

The Dream Lives on!

Wow, to look back at my first blog over a year ago confirmed time does really fly! I haven't been just having fun (as we girls like to do!), I've been preparing to launch www.girlfriendology.com and working on new items for www.cafepress.com/girlfriend-gifts. But I'm back and committed to pursuing my dream of inspiring, appreciating and celebrating girlfriends.

What's the latest? Well, the web site is in the design process. The newsletter is being built with the same design (so hopefully that will start going out in the coming month). And I am designing products for www.cafepress.com/girlfriend-gifts. (Actually I'm going to the National Stationery Show this weekend to see what great girlfriend gifts I can find so Girlfriendology has the best 'stuff! I'll report back what I find in NYC.)

What else has happened in the past year? Well, I've shared my dream with dozens of my girlfriends (I am so blessed with great girlfriends!) and they've shared their ideas with me, which has been awesome! I've also found out some really amazing facts and stories about why female friendships are so important to have, maintain and appreciate. I'll share this in coming blogs.
